Thumb

Excavator thumbs are attachment tools used to hold, stabilize, and control material during digging, loading, and site-handling tasks. Installed on the excavator’s stick and used together with the bucket, thumbs help secure objects such as rocks, brush, demolition debris, and loose material. They improve handling accuracy by giving the operator a secondary gripping surface that works in coordination with the bucket’s movement.
